What’s a Lion?
The Glen Ellyn Lions serve our community in a number of different ways.
In addition to raising money for vision, hearing, and hunger initiatives, we volunteer and give our time to projects and events important to our local community.
We also listen to our members to see what drives them and what causes they are passionate about. This guides us in which organizations we support both with volunteering and fundraising.
Each year, we participate in a number of events and projects, including:
District Bowling Fundraiser
Spaghetti / Pasta Dinner Fundraiser
Recycling Day Extravaganza - April
Club Steak Fry - June
Busy Bee / GELC Car Show - June
Charity Golf Outing with GECC - Fall
Candy Day Fundraiser - October
Holiday Party - December
Community Food Drives - various times
Hearing Screenings - various times
Where there's a need, there's a Lion:
“You can’t get very far until you start doing something for somebody else.”
— Melvin Jones
